“Since 2006 Kyle and I have been training in Baltimore Md. The work outs have been customized to push and help me perform to the best of my capabilities and surpass my goals. We have designed a strict training program that focuses on strength, mobility and explosion. During our workouts, Kyle and I focus on the hamstrings, groin, glutes, chest, back, shoulders and hips. We routinely attack my core muscle groups. In 2006 I was sidelined due to back spasms. Kyle tailored our workouts to strengthen my lower back, strengthen my abs, and create more mobility and flexibility in my hips.  After making sure that my body was structurally sound, Kyle and I refocused on building explosiveness throughout my body.

During an NFL season, any number of physical issues can occur.  Kyle has always structured a plan that helps strengthen and develop my muscles so that I can enter each season healthy. He does this and is still able to maintain a high intensity workout regimen. Kyle and I have worked on hand eye drills, reaction, footwork, keeping my head on a swivel, as well as numerous db specific football drills. Kyle is very serious about the agility drills he designs for me.  At my position, every step is important.

Kyle and I work on every asset there is! The past two seasons I have had no muscular issues.  Everything has felt strong and explosive. Kyle has helped me improve my body and skills as an athlete. Through Kyle, I have been able to sharpen my tools!
Not only is he a smart and intelligent person, but he knows what it means to work hard and how that pays off!”

"Training with Kyle Jakobe has helped me become a better athlete in more ways than one.  Kyle's diversified workouts have helped improve my strength, explosion, and quickness. Completing these workouts with Kyle has prepared me to complete with ease, any workout that the Brown University Lacrosse program has ever put me through.  The agility and strength workouts that Kyle designs has allowed me to compete at the peak of my ability.  I strongly believe that if I didn't workout for as long as I did with Kyle, then I would not have been able to get through my freshman year of Lacrosse successfully at Brown, or make the USA U-19 squad and compete against the best players in the world."

"The unique program Kyle has introduced to me works my body in a variety ways.  Before I began to meet with Kyle, my pitching game was pretty decent, but not quite at the level that I wanted it to be.  Currently, I am pitching at the collegiate level at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  I was also drafted in the 39th round by the Baltimore Orioles which was the greatest baseball achievement of my career.  The help of Kyle’s strength and conditioning program has helped me immensely to get to where I am today.  I have found myself with much more stamina in games, and I have also become much more explosive as well.  I hope more young athletes such as myself are able to experience the outstanding weight training program that Kyle has to offer.  It will enhance your performance in competition, not only in baseball, but any sport.  Thanks for all of your help Kyle!"

"I had played basketball at Maryland and overseas in Australia from 1999-2006. The summer of 2007 I got asked to play for basketball for Filipino national team and had not touched a basketball in 7 months. I needed to get my skills and conditioning back up to a world class level and within 8 weeks Kyle had me playing some of the best basketball of my life. Since Kyle plays the game, he has such a high understanding of the game. He tailored my workouts to improve my strengths and my weakness and knew exactly how to challenge me so that I got the most out of my time with him. After taking such a long break from the game, I don’t know how else I would have been able to compete on the international level without his help."

Andrew Pyke
University of North Carolina Men’s Lacrosse

"I began training with Kyle Jakobe the summer before my sophomore year in college. I had recently transferred from Franklin and Marshall College, a Division III lacrosse program, and was heading into my first year at the University of North Carolina. It was my dream to play lacrosse at UNC, a division I program.  I put my complete trust in Kyle to help me to walk on and achieve that dream.  UNC rarely keeps any walk-ons on the team.  Kyle made me believe that I could change that trend.  I trained with Kyle for an hour/day, 5 days/week that summer. At the end of all that hard work, it was time to take the true test.  During our strength and conditioning tests, I performed incredibly well.  I was a big surprise for the coaching staff and they opted to keep me on the team as one of UNC’s first walk-ons in years.  I am 100 % certain that the time I spent training with Kyle that summer allowed me to realize my goal of making the UNC lacrosse team.

Training with Kyle improved my conditioning, speed, agility, strength and mental toughness. I have never been in as top competitive shape as I was heading into tryouts my sophomore year. The workouts I participated in with Kyle honed every aspect of my athletic abilities. Every single workout pushed me to the extent of my strength, conditioning, and toughness, allowing me to get exponentially better with every workout. This training paid huge dividends and is why I was able to excel at UNC during the speed, agility and conditioning tests.  Most importantly, I was able to transition all of these developments to the field. I felt faster, more agile and more in shape than I ever had before--Even more so than my junior and senior years starting on varsity at Gilman School for both football and lacrosse. All the training with Kyle paid off as I made the UNC team and now am in my senior year playing for UNC.

I have continued to return to Baltimore every summer, so I can continue to train with Kyle and improve myself as an athlete. I have yet to feel myself not pushed to my limits during a workout.  Now I bring Greg, my brother, to workouts with Kyle.  While Greg is only a freshman, I trust that Kyle can develop my brother safely and effectively just as he did with me.  I can truly say Kyle has had one of the biggest and most positive impacts on my athletic career, and I doubt I would be where I am now without his dedication to improving me as a complete athlete."

Amber Singletary
Seton Keough High School - Varisty Basketball & Outdoor Track

"I am a sophmore at Seton Keough High School in Baltimore, MD. I am on the Varsity Basketball and the Varsity Outdoor Track team as well. I have been training with Kyle for about 2 years now. I knew that I would need to take my skills to the next level if I wanted to make Varsity as a freshman.

Kyle not only trains me on basketball but also includes conditioning, weight training and advice. Since my training with Kyle I have improved my ability to drive to the basket, to take "anyone" off the dribble, pull up and take a short jump shot or make a 3-point shot with more accuracy and consistency. He also walks me through different situations that I may come across in a real game to give me a better way of creating scoring opportunities for myself and my teammates. I was able to to make Varsity as a freshman and earned a spot as the seventh man in the rotation of a team that was the IAAM champions for the "2007-08" season. We lost in the championship in overtime by 3 points. This is just to drive home the fact that our team was not a team without talent. Kyle's training has enabled me to move from seventh man in the rotation to the starting line up. I am becoming a double digit scorer in our games.

I know it takes hard work to achieve success, but it also takes coaching and excellent training to maintain and improve your abilities. Kyle has enabled me to become a player that is drawing the attention of multiple scouts. I have also asked if he will continue with his conditioning and training for me during the up and coming track season. He has improved my personal skills and all around conditioning which will transfer over to any sport I choose to play."

*Amber, now a sophmore, was the second leading scorer for #1 ranked Seton Keough. She scored 17 points and had an outstanding defensive performance in the Gator's championship win over 6-time IAAM defending champs, St. Frances.
Brandon Herbert
Guard Binghamton University

"I began working with Kyle before entering college. I play Division I Basketball for Binghamton University. As a basketball player himself, Kyle knew the importance of agility, explosiveness, core strength and overall strength to be a successful and effective player on the court. We always have very intense workout sessions lasting 45 minutes to an hour. We do a lot of body weight exercise as well as weighted ones. During the summer before my freshman year, my goal was to be more explosive, and ultimately to dunk before I went to college. After working out 2-3 times a week, for 6 weeks I felt a huge improvement in my strength, speed, and explosiveness.  While playing in a pick up game at the end of that summer I cut backdoor, got the ball and unexpectedly took off and dunked on a 6'8 kid. The gym went crazy and everyone stopped playing and just stared at me. I'm only 5'11. Although they were tough, the workouts that Kyle put me through were very beneficial to me and I knew I was getting better everyday. By the time I entered college I was prepared for any workout that my strength coach had for me, and my teammates were surprised I was as quick and strong as I was. The workouts with Kyle gave me a leg up on the other freshman and some of the upper-classmen. I'm thankful to workout with Kyle, and I still do when I come home in the summer time."

"Kyle Jakobe has been essential to my recent successes at the Division 1 level. After a summer of training with Kyle I immediately saw an increase in my endurance, explosion, and footwork. Kyle's workouts are difficult, yes, but they pay off in gains of both physical strength and in mental determination. Kyle works in small groups, which allows him to critique all the athletes and provide personalized attention to everyone.  Over the summer I had a hurt back.  Kyle crafted personalized workouts that enabled me to work-out pain free.  I can guarantee that I will be working with Kyle for years to come."

"Training with Kyle Jakobe for over three years has been a phenomenal experience.   The first time I met Kyle I was a rising sophomore looking to get stronger, and after the first workout I did not know if I was going to be able to walk again, because of how sore I was.  His grueling, yet fun workouts allow for one to have fun while working at an extremely high level.  I can truly say I have never had a workout as hard as a “Jakobe workout”--as all my friends call them.   Although the workouts are serious, Kyle allows for the kids to have fun at the same time.  He is an extremely good motivator, who gets the best out of his clients.  Not only he is very personable, easy to talk to, and enjoyable to be around, he is extremely intelligent and diligent in his field of work.  Often Kyle is away going to seminars and coming back with the best and newest ideas.

Additionally, Kyle works as a basketball coach who has great knowledge of the game.  One unique thing about Kyle is that he is knowledgeable about the movement patterns of every sport.  This allows him to help athletes from all different sports excel in efficient movement.  In many of my workouts there are four athletes; and all four of them play different sports.  He has the ability to make each work individualized while promoting a team environment.

My results from working out with him have been astonishing.  I started out at around 120 pounds, and struggled to do a single pull up.  My quickness and my speed were both lack luster.  As I continued to go through “Jakobe workout” after “Jakobe workout,” I steadily got bigger, stronger and quicker.  I now weigh 180 lbs and have less than 5% body fat. Although some days I come in feeling lazy, Kyle instantly motivates and challenges me.  I have worked out with numerous trainers over the years, and without a doubt Kyle is the best combination of knowledge, personality, and work ethic.  He is always available to talk to and is very reasonable about scheduling workouts.  All in all, there is no one I would rather workout with then Kyle."
